Crowdsourcing Stories


When we set out to collect inspirational stories about how design practices are changing, we felt it was essential that stories come from the community. Our approach was communal and pluralistic. This philosophy also drives our approach to the website. We are aiming to publish the stories and viewpoints as we go along, to enable discussions and conversations to happen throughout the project.

We started with a with few tweets and emails with ‘friendly’ professionals and then a more formal request through Emma’s blog which gave us a starting list of at least 50 stories we could pursue. We also have had amazing support from DesignThinkers, a service innovation company in Amsterdam. They agreed to be out first case study and we ran an insightful and interesting workshop with them in December 2011. The results of the workshop can be read here.
